This year our fundraising efforts faced many challenges in light of Covid-19, but so many of our dedicated hosts took this challenge head on! For example, Coffee morning 2020 in Kilcormac County Offaly took on a new look and life as it was moved from the home of Melissa Mulrooney to the town square.
Melissa has been hosting very successful and much anticipated hospice coffee mornings in her home for over 10 year with many of the same reliable supporters attending each year donating and adding to the very sociable and friendly atmosphere. Not allowing anything to stand in the way of her fundraising efforts for Offaly Hospice Melissa moved her coffee morning to the Kilcormac town square out of necessity to comply with Covid-19 regulations.
If something positive is to come out of a negative well then this was it as Melissa’s coffee morning donations almost doubled from previous years. Melissa said that she had people attend that would never have called to her home and that going forward she said she will bring her coffee morning to the people instead of expecting the people to come to her coffee morning.
Melissa will be carefully watching the weather forecast for coffee morning 2021 and will host her coffee morning again this year in the Kilcormac town square either Saturday 18th or 25th September depending on the weather.
